Today I’m so excited! The guys from Mountain Power Solutions are here. (The solar guys!)

They’re moving the batteries into the power shed. Finally things are happening.

The wind has been blowing and gusting non-stop for the past 24 hours. With the dirt piles and the groundwork going on, the dust is miserable.

I finally got ahold of a local internet company and they are coming out tomorrow to see if we can get a signal here. It they can, they will go ahead and install it right away.

The guys from Mt. Power Solutions could possibly get our system up and running by the end of the week. Of course the campers are too far to plug in right now, but still. With the prospect of having the internet and having solar power, I might actually feel like this is all possible.

We’ll move the campers and start to winterize soon. God is so good.

October 18

This morning I heard the dogs going crazy, looked out and the solar guys were back. They said they had an opening in their schedule and we were up next. They worked all day and by the time we got back from town, we had six giant solar panels, with all the bells and whistles moving and running in the shed. It’s WORKING! I’m thrilled beyond measure for this part. Don’t get me wrong, having a septic system is very important too, but lots of people have those.

How many have off-the-grid sun powered electric systems? Both of these things represent hope in a future home.

On a side note, the guy from the internet company came out and told me it was a no go for right now. No signal in this immediate area. Then he asked if we’d be willing to consider putting a tower on our property. I was unsure about what Dave would think, but when I texted him, he immediately responded yes! So now we wait to see if that’s even a possibility with the company or not.

So exciting! It’s really starting to look like a building site around here now.

My son didn’t have to work, so he laid tires around the perimeter of where the house will be built. Things are starting to get real.

October 25

Rain! Finally! It hasn’t rained at all this month and the temperatures have been in the high 70’s. Very unusual for this late in October here in Colorado. I’m sure the late warm temperatures were a blessing from God so we could get more things done.

The solar is ready to plug into. My Mom and Dad are coming this Thursday to help move the campers. I have tons to do before then. I need to get some extra boxes moved out so there’s room for the push out on our camper to push in.

These kinds of things make me anxious. I’m not sure why. Maybe I’m settled her and have things just so. Not that moving the camper 100 yards is changing anything. I just feel a little concerned.

Our granddaughter had the flu yesterday and luckily her Daddy didn’t have to work. Poor little girl. She was a trooper though. I hope her little brother doesn’t get it. They love it here, playing and running all over the place. Their new doggy helps too.

Some days I feel sorry for myself, but then I look out over the beauty God has provided and am so thankful to be living here. God continues to bless us day after day.
